Two roads diverged in a yellow wood.
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads onto way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence;
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
Author: Robert Frost
Yikes! This is by far one of the greatest poem ever written during the Progressive Era.
I just had to share it with each and everyone of you today. Some of you guys may already know it, some not well and others not at all. It is all good, here it is presented to you in a golden plate☺
This is equally a reminder to you reading this that life has got its own ways of dealing with us. One of those ways is having to make decisions impending our destinies and sometimes that of our entourage too.
Above all, what I principally want to say with the assistance of this poem is that in life; SOME BATTLES ARE MEANT TO BE FOUGHT ALONE.
No matter how much your family, friends and loved ones love, support you and want the best for you, ONLY YOU can fix THAT ISSUE in your life.
It can be Depression, Addiction, Anxiety, Laziness, Procrastination, Lack of confidence. You can continue the list. The only person who can turn things around in your life is: YOU!
You want to loose weight? Well you are the only one who can fight that battle with your weight! That is about it. Your loved ones cannot do it for you. You have to take the decision YOURSELF!
You want to be an entrepreneur? Well the only one who can decide to quit playing and start working is: YOU!
So yeah go ahead and take the road less traveled and turn things around 🙂
Don’t forget to leave me your impressions or how you feel about the poem in the comment section 🙂
